sunday morning…

went to the No Doubt concert last night and had a blast. The Sounds were the opener, then Paramore, then No Doubt. talk about reliving the past. its hard to think that when Tragic Kingdom came out, i was only 9 years old. i’ve never been one to feel old, but man, i feel old. i guess there comes a time in everyone’s life when this sort of thing happens. i’m sure it’ll start out slow for me, then as i progress in age and see the world changing around me, i’ll start to really feel it.
enough of that – No Doubt rocked. it was as if they never really left the scene. the set was awesome, wardrobe was…well…it was No Doubt. it had the feel of “A Clockwork Orange” which i can dig. lights and videos and sound…it was one of the best rock concerts…pop/ska/rock concerts…i’ve ever been to.
gwen kept looking out over the crowd and was so wowed by the support. she said it was the biggest venue they’d even played in texas…at least she sounded genuine. its hard to tell with stage performers. some can be so fake just to get the crowd to like them. others actually mean it. i think she is one of the latter. she kept reading the posters that people held up and thanking them. it was really pretty cool to hear some legit adoration and unscripted stage banter. kudos to gwen and the band.
